Prayer for Protection

Prayer for Protection

This prayer can be prayed silently or aloud, but either way, it should be prayed in front of an icon of Christ or the Holy Virgin (if you don’t have either, then any icon will do).

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Holy God, Holy mighty, Holy immortal, have mercy on us. (3 times)

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Now and always and to the ages of ages. Amen.

All-holy Trinity have mercy on us. Lord, pardon our sins, Master forgive us our transgressions, Holy One visit and heal our infirmities for Your namesake.

Lord have mercy, Lord have mercy, Lord have mercy.

Glory to the Father and the Son the Holy Spirit. Now and always and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, now and always and to the ages of ages. Amen.

The Hymn of Saint Katherine

Let us exalt the all-lauded bride of Christ, Holy Katherine, the guardian of Sinai, who is our help and our support; for she silenced brilliantly the eloquence of the disrespectful with the sword of the Spirit. And now that she has been crowned as a Martyr, she seeks for all the Great Mercy.

The Litany

Have mercy on us, O God, according to Your great mercy, we pray to You, hear us, and have mercy.
Lord, have mercy. (3 times)

Again we pray for all pious and Orthodox Christians
Lord, have mercy. (3 times)

Again we pray for our Archbishop Gerasimos and all our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Lord, have mercy. (3 times)

Again we pray for mercy, life, peace, health, salvation, visitation, forgiveness and remission of sins of the servants of God, those who are under impending threat of the Coronavirus, those who are suffering and those who are recovering from this affliction.
Lord, have mercy. (3 times)

Again we pray for the protection of our Holy Church and this city and every city and land from wrath, famine, pestilence, earthquake, flood, fire, sword, foreign invasion, civil strife and accidental death. That our good and loving God may be merciful, gracious and open to our entreaties, and that He may divert and disperse all anger and disease aroused against us, deliver us from His impending righteous chastisement and be merciful to us.
Lord, have mercy. (3 times)

Again we pray that the Lord God may hear the prayer of us sinners and have mercy on us.
Lord, have mercy. (3 times)

For You are a merciful God Who loves mankind, and to You we offer up glory, to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and always and to the ages of ages.
Amen.

Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy.

O God Almighty, Lord of heaven and earth and of all creation both visible and invisible, look upon us who have gathered in Your name. Be our helper and defender in these days affliction. We ask You who loves us all, to deliver us from the impending threat of the Coronavirus. Send Your mighty angels to watch over us and protect us. Preserve those who are healthy and grant healing to those suffering from this virus, guiding the hands of their physicians and care-givers. Lord, grant that we may live in peace, in health and in love so that we may continue to serve You and glorify Your most honorable and majestic Name, Father, Son and Holy Spirit; now and always and to the ages of ages.
Amen.

Through the prayers of our holy Fathers, Lord Jesus Christ our God, have mercy on us and save us. Amen.
